John M. Carter is currently an entrepreneur and former chief of Police for the City of Crofton. The newly elected Mayor for Crofton in 2022, RobertEvans, stated Carter and another black Sergeant made the town “too dark” and dismissed the both of them from police services in the city and hired the Sheriff’s Office to patrol the town. Carter served as an Intelligence Analyst in the United States Marine Corps until the first Gulf War before becoming a police officer and eventually served as interim Chief of Police in Tekamah, Nebraska. Carter practiced law in the areas of taxation, bankruptcy and consumer law.

In this political climate, I encourage citizens to become advocates and supporters of the second amendment. Law enforcement is usually responsive to events that have already occurred. You should be equipped and prepared to protect your family and guard your castle, which is your home, which is protected by the 4th amendment of the Constitution of the United States. Too many of us rely on uninformed and unsophiscated lawyers to help us with the law. The sad truth is many lawyers and judges have never read the Constitution of the United States much less enforce the provided the protections it guarantees.

You have a right to protect your home and family. Go buy a gun and train to properly handle and use it. Most states allow open carry, which means you do not have to get a concealed carry permit to possess it. You can lay it on the front seat of your car while you are intransit. Just be sure to remember to conceal it when you leave the vehicle so that it is no longer in plainview when you exit the vehicle, unless you are carrying it with you.
